Another department in the mountains has reported its first positive cases of COVID-19. Kelley Klope, a public information officer with the Asheville Fire Department (AFD), confirmed two employees have tested positive since the pandemic begun. Klope said those individuals are in isolation and close contacts are following CDC guidelines as to try and prevent any further spread.
“It’s a big deal,” says Weill Cornell neurologist. The consequences can range from mental fog, and mild memory lapses, to severe neurological problems.
New Mexico state health officials on Saturday announced 129 additional positive tests for COVID-19. Out of the 129 new cases, 23 are from Doña Ana County and 5 new cases are from the Otero County Prison Facility. The Department of Health on Saturday also reported five additional deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19. The number of deaths of New Mexico residents related to COVID-19 is now 392. New Mexico has now had a total of 8,800 positive tests for COVID-19.
