Wisconsin surpasses 1,000 deaths from COVID-19

MADISON (WLUK) — Wisconsin has reported its 1,000th death connected to the coronavirus pandemic. The state Department of Health Services reported eight new deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total to 1,006 since the pandemic began. Meanwhile, DHS reported 724 new confirmed cases of the virus on Tuesday, along with 12,875 negative tests. The 5. 3% rate of positive tests was down from Monday and was below the seven-day average of 6. 3%.

State health officials updated its coronavirus data Monday as Washington state nears 64,000 total COVID-19 cases. The Washington Department of Health reported 575 new COVID-19 cases, 48 more hospitalizations and nine new deaths Monday. State health officials said there have been 63,647 total COVID-19 cases, 6,049 hospitalizations and 1,697 deaths in Washington since the pandemic began.
