State death toll from COVID-19 climbs by 15, another 313 cases confirmed

Washington’s statewide death toll from COVID-19 increased by double-digits Tuesday and health officials confirmed an additional 313 cases in its newest report. The Washington Department of Health reported 24,354 coronavirus cases and 1,176 deaths Tuesday associated with the virus, an increase of 15 deaths from Monday. The state’s death toll increased by two Monday before eclipsing the double-digit mark in the state’s newest numbers.

South Carolina sets new single-day COVID-19 cases record with 542

State public health officials announced Monday an additional 542 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus have been confirmed in the state, setting a new record for the most positive cases recorded in a single day. The statewide total dating back to March 6 is now 14,800 cases, according to the S. C. Dept. of Health and Environmental Control. The glut of new cases comes alongside 11 additional deaths, which bring the total number of people who have died from the virus in South Carolina to 557.
